Cáceres Main Square

Why Cáceres

Cáceres is a monumental city and UNESCO World Heritage Site in Extremadura, between Madrid and Lisbon. Medieval streets, a lively cultural scene, an affordable cost of living and a calm pace to study, create and live in community. This is where our base is.

A city for artists

Its old town is one of the best-preserved medieval and Renaissance quarters in Europe. Theatre, music, exhibitions and festivals fill the squares all year round, such as the WOMAD festival or Holy Week.

Cost of living

Living in Cáceres costs much less than Madrid or Barcelona. During the schools, students live together in a flat or house prepared by the base.

Getting here

Most international students fly into Madrid and continue by train or bus to Cáceres. Lisbon is another nearby option. We help you plan the trip once you are accepted.

Weather and safety

Hot, dry summers and mild winters with some cold mornings. It is a calm, walkable city where everything is close by.

Why a base with an artistic focus?

Cáceres is an artistic, cultural city, so the arts have a special place at YWAM Cáceres: we want to be a God-centred haven for creatives, a safe place to grow in skill and character and to speak to society through art.

But the base is for everyone. You don't need to be an artist to join us, serve in the ministries or do a school.
